A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRPERSON

As Chairperson and on behalf of the AAGSC executive committee and members welcome to our website.
I would like to thank Wellington Airport for hosting our annual Safety Seminar, AGM and quarterly meeting on the 7 – 8th November 2011.

The highlights of our safety seminar were the presentations by Ford Robertson from Christchurch Airport and Paul Lamont from Cairns Airport. Both presentations related to the importance of emergency planning in the wake of natural disasters. The first was activating the Airport emergency plan following unpredictable natural events such as the devastating earthquakes that have struck Christchurch over the last year. Read More...

2011 Safety Award Winner

Queensland Airports Ltd, Aviation Ground Handling and Gold Coast Airport coordinated by Janelle Jamieson recognised that a contributing factor to a number of incidents were as a result of incorrect manual handling. Janelle on behalf of the three companies researched wrote and assisted in the production of a practical straightforward manual handling DVD directly targeting ground handling operations both airside and front of house.

Interactive Ground Safety Toolkit has been released!

The AAGSC has just released an Interactive Ground Safety toolkit DVD to provide a Safety Information Overview for the ground support industry. This DVD is now available for purchase.
